MR DAYO LAWUYI (Chairman)

 

Jabez Dayo Lawuyi was born 55 years ago in Gombe – Gombe State.  His father was a clergyman and for this reason he was privileged to reside in various parts of the Nigerian Nation.  This gave him a Pan Nigerian view early in life.  He had his primary education in Jos, Pleteau State, secondary school in Aba, Abia State, and he attended the Yaba College of Technology here in Lagos.  He speaks, reads and writes three main Nigerian languages – Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba.

 Mr Lawuyi is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA).  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at a relatively young age of 22 years in 1972, by passing the examinations of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom (ACCA).  He is also a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria.

Dayo Lawuyi became a Board member of a Publicly quoted Company in 1982 by being appointed as the Finance Director of then Hagemeyer Nigeria Plc, now D.N. Meyer Plc.  He now serves as the Company’s Chairman of the Board.  Prior to Joining D.N. Meyer, he served in various capacities in Berger Paints, Michelin Group and Rank Xerox.  He also worked as a Management Consultant with the then Coopers & Lybrand Associate, now PriceWaterhouse Coopers. 

He was invited to the Board of Dunlop Nigeria Plc in 1986, and became the Managing Director in 1991.  He is now the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Company and also Chairman of the Board of its Rubber Plantation Subsidiary, Pamol Nigeria Ltd.  Mr Lawuyi also has a seat on the Board of one of the long established Banks in the country giving him an insight into the financial sector of Nigeria.  His varied experience in our economic life spans 35 years, with over 23 years on the Board of various institutions.

Mr. Lawuyi has also served in various other capacities, some of which include:

(i) President of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA)

(ii) Member, International Organisation of Employers, Geneva

(iii) Council Member, Manafacturers Association of Nigeria

(iv)  Member, Editorial Advisory Board of a respected Financial Newspaper

(v)  Board member, Nigerian Economic Summit Group

(vi)  President of the Organised Private Sector, 2004/2005

(vii)   Past President, Business Club Ikeja

(viii)  Member, Vision 2010 Committee and Co-ordinating Secretary of the privatization Committee

(ix)  Past President, Lagos Business School Alumni Association

Dayo Lawuyi was conferred with the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) in November, 2000.  He is married and has three grown up children.

HENRY T. OLAYEMI, FCS (MD/CEO)
A graduate of Finance from the University of Lagos and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He started his career with Messrs Milestone Investments and Services Ltd in 1984 as an Investment Executive. He rose to the position of a Consultant in 1987 before he resigned his appointment to join RIV Investment and services Ltd in 1988 as the Pioneer Manager. In 1989, he resigned his appointment to join RIMS Securities Ltd as Assistant Manager in charge of Stock broking, held many senior management positions within RIMS Group before he resigned as General Manager in charge of Capital Markets in 1995. He played a major role in most of the Capital Markets issues handled by RIMS securities Ltd and participated actively in the last phase of the privatization and commercialization exercise under TCPC. He joined Reward Investments and Services Ltd in 1995 as the Pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. He has successfully packaged either as an Issuing House or as Stockbroker to a number of issues, amongst which are DN Meyer Plc, Dumez Nig Plc, Hallmark Paper Products Plc, Zenith Bank, GTB Bank, Cornerstone Insurance Plc amongst others. Mr. Olayemi is the immediate past President and Chairman of Council of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and an alumnus of The New York Institute of Finance, West African Capital Market School (WACMS) and ISMA Centre of The University of Reading.
MR. ISAAC IYIOLA IKUMAPAYI

A Chartered Banker and Associate member of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London and Nigeria . He joined the services of the now First Bank of Nigeria Plc. in February 1969 and served in various capacities. He held a number of senior management positions. He was appointed Deputy General Manager and Head, Regional Co-ordination with the responsibility to co-ordinate the operations of the Bank countrywide. He retired meritously from the services of the Bank as Deputy General Manager in July 2000. He has attended many overseas and local courses. Presently, he is the chairman of Comsaac Investment Group Limited and has a keen interest in capital market.

MR. OLUSEGUN BOLAJI
He is a 1979 graduate of Economics from the University of Ibadan and holds a masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos . A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an associate of the chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. Also holds the membership of several other professional bodies. He started his banking career with Afribank Nigeria Plc in 1980 and has held many senior management positions in the same organization He was at various times a branch Manager, Head of Departments, Division and Area Manager in charge of Abuja Region covering branches in the Federal Capital Territory , Benue , Kogi, Kwara and Niger States . He is widely travelled and has attended many local and international courses. He has a keen interest in capital market and financial intermediation.
 MR BABATUNDE AJENIFUJA (FCA)
A fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He began his professional career with Berger paints Nig Plc in 1970 as an Assistant Accountant and rose to the position of Financial Accountant in 1979. He held many senior management positions with Bewac Group, Witt and Busil Ltd and Union Dicon Salt Plc where he retired as the Head of the Stockbroking Department. He has attended several courses both locally and abroad. He has an in-depth knowledge of the Capital Market.
